At a press conference in Seoul on Wednesday, ICONLOOP introduced how it was cooperating with Akamai Korea, the local subsidiary of the U.S. content delivery network (CDN) and cloud service provider, to bolster the blockchain platform’s security.

During the event, ICONLOOP team member Jeong Jin-woo said that in order to provide stable blockchain services, you need to marry blockchain technology and existing technologies. He also said that while people believe blockchain services to be more trustworthy and secure than existing services, one shouldn’t overlook the point of contact with the user.

He said that while blockchain was secure, it should become even more secure. He said ICONLOOP had adopted Akamai’s Web Application Firewall (WAF) and was considering bolstering endpoint security, too.

This is because people who use blockchain services do so through websites and applications at endpoints such as PCs or smartphones.

ICONLOOP has integrated Akamai’s security technology into its monitoring system. The platform plans to bolster its endpoint security, too.
