Decentralized karaoke DApp SOMESING is helping create the K-pop stars of the future by providing solutions to South Korea’s audition studios.

Last week, SOMESING disclosed that on May 14 it had successfully completed and delivered its karaoke solution to Audition Studio, a studio run by JYP Entertainment, one of the nation’s biggest entertainment companies.

From Xangle:

On May 15, 2020, Soulcup’s 2nd branch opened at the Lotte Mall in Jamsil, Seoul, opening a cafe together with an audition studio where people can participate in the JYP’s online audition.  This JYP’s audition studio is powered by SOMESING’s karaoke app technology.

By successfully supplying the solution to JYP, SOMESING’s technology in mobile karaoke service has been recognized by Korea’s Top Tier entertainment agency.  SOMESING plans to expand various business models in the future based on its cutting-edge technology.

SOMESING hasn’t stopped there, though.

On Monday, the team announced it had signed an MoU with SL Studio to expand the latter’s audition business.

The K-pop academy SL Studio is run by Lee Sol-lim, the former head of the academy division of SM Entertainment, another one of South Korea’s biggest entertainment companies. As such, she discovered and trained major K-pop stars such as Kim Tae-yeon of Girls’ Generation, Onew of Shinee, and Lee Sung-yeol of Infinite.

Under the MoU, SOMESING will support SL Studio in its online and offline audition activities, which the DApp hopes will allow it to evolve into a platform that will enable entertainment companies to discover new talent more easily.

The partnership with JYP and SL Studio is very meaningful for SOMESING in that our cutting-edge mobile karaoke technology has been proven by the top tier entertainment agency,” says Jason Kim, SOMESING’s Chief Global Business Officer. “Also, we are really pleased to become a bridge between our talented users and these audition agencies through SOMESING platform, and look forward to helping creators be able to become professional artists.

He adds, “As a DApp service based on the ICON network, we would like to be a killer-DApp as a real life-friendly service in a global market and the whole team strongly believes in our future growth as we would be the right karaoke-based entertainment solution against the current COVID-19’s global pandemic.

Meanwhile. SOMESING launched on Monday a 10-day in-DApp “Audition Support Event” aimed at hobby singers who dream of becoming pop stars.
