The MyID Alliance has gained three new members.
Popular online recruiting platform Saramin, online shopping company GS Shop and data analysis company LIME Solution have joined ICONLOOP’s decentralized identification (DID) initiative.
The additions bring the MyID Alliance’s total number of partners to 44.
Saramin is Korea’s most visited online job site and a household name in the country. GS Shop, operated by the major Korean conglomerate GS, is one of the nation’s most respected online shopping platforms with an international presence in China, India and elsewhere. LIME Solution, meanwhile, has built data systems for several major Korean government organizations and corporations, including the Ministry of Justice, Korea Development Bank and the national pension and tax services.
Korean language business news outlet MoneyToday recently predicted that DID could become the killer app that finally brings blockchain into widespread use. And with the dangers of giving global social media platforms control over our personal data becoming increasingly clear, DID and other blockchain solutions are emerging as optimal solutions to restore data sovereignty to the individual.
