Ahead of elections, The Iconist is starting a series of short P-Rep candidate profiles to provide ICONists with basic information on each candidate. This week, we are highlighting Newroad.Capital, a Netherlands-based company focused on delegation and staking services, digital asset investment and blockchain infrastructure. Get to know them below!
1. Tell us about your team
Newroad.Capital is a young company that started in 2017. We strongly believe that a permissionless blockchain model will be the basis for many future products in leading industries, such as finance, transportation, agriculture, healthcare and many more, by serving as a secure, transparent and tamperproof information source globally protected by all participants.
2. Why would you like to become an ICON P-rep?
After our first introduction to ICON, we were immediately enthusiastic. The way in which decentralized governance is organized makes ICON very interesting and makes us want to be part of it. The role of the Public Representatives (P-Rep) fits very well within our current services.
3. Why should the voters vote for YOU?
If we are chosen as a P-Rep by voters, ICONists will trust us with responsible tasks. We take this very seriously and we believe it is very important that communication is open and honest. We will be easily accessible for ICONists and will base our governance decisions based on signals from the community.
4. What do you like about ICON? What sets it apart from other blockchain platforms?
We are really impressed with the strong community that ICON already has. The desire in the community to make this a success is exciting to see, and we certainly want to contribute to this.
5. How do you envision a decentralized ICON network? Why is decentralization important?
The control of the network does not lie in the hands of a powerful central authority. Instead it lies with all its participants. This makes the network more reliable, trustworthy and tamperproof.
