It’s time to get to know your ICON 2.0 testnets.

The ICON Foundation announced Monday that the testnet ecosystem for ICON 2.0 is now complete.

ICON 2.0 features three testnets for your application testing needs.

Lisbon

Lisbon is ICON 2.0’s long-term support testnet, similar to ICON 1.0’s Euljiro testnet.

ICON recommends you use Lisbon to test your application in an environment as close to the mainnet as possible. If you’ve got a demo/beta version of your product, this is the testnet for you. Resets are avoided as much as possible.

Berlin

Germany is known for its cutting edge technology, so perhaps it’s only fitting that the German capital lend its name to ICON 2.0’s bleeding-edge testnet.

Berlin offers the latest features, but may be unstable. Be prepared for frequent resets without notice. The ICON Foundation warns developers to use this network “for purely experimental purposes.”

Sejong

Got an application to test, but don’t want to go through an audit?

Try Sejong, which is similar to ICON 1.0’s Yeouido testnet.

Because applications needn’t go through the audit, this network may be unstable.

In case you were curious, Sejong is the name of South Korea’s newly built de facto administrative capital, named for the great 15th century monarch who, among other things, promulgated Korea’s brilliant indigenous alphabet. It’s a pretty impressive city, actually, especially when you consider it was essentially just rice paddies only a couple of years ago.

Anyway, the ICON Foundation reminds you that if you need a large amount of ICX, get in touch with [email protected], or ask in the ICON Dev telegram channel.
