And around the ICON Republic on Tuesday….

Binance Restores ICX Withdrawals

As everyone knows, Binance blocked withdrawals of ICX for several days beginning on Christmas Eve.

As of Tuesday, however, withdrawals are working again.

Naturally enough, the ICON Community has been curious about what happened, and speculation has been rife — see Telegram, Twitter and elsewhere.

With few official statements as of yet, all we’re comfortable saying at the moment is that Binance reportedly experienced a node issue.

Binance, the ICON Foundation of somebody else may eventually provide more information on what transpired. If we learn anything in the meantime, we’ll let you know.

Big Korean Exchanges Support ICY and ICZ Airdrops

UpBit, CoinOne and Bithumb are supporting the big ICY/ICZ airdrop.

However, they will be temporarily suspending ICX deposits and withdrawals from Tuesday afternoon while the snapshot is underway.

ICX Having a Really Good Day

The Binance issue doesn’t seem to have hurt ICX much, though.

As of 2:08 p.m. Tuesday (Korea time), ICX was trading at KRW 2,245 on leading Korean exchange UpBit, up 19.41% from the previous trading day.

On CoinMarketCap, it was up 23%.
