Sign up for DID, win a coffee.
NH Bank announced last Friday — just as we were beginning the long Chuseok holiday — that it is hosting a promotional event for customers who get an ID through its decentralized ID system.
Customers who receive an ID through Oct. 10 can win a mobile coupon for a cup of Americano at Starbucks. NH Bank will choose 6,000 people through a lucky draw.
The bank is co-hosting the event with ICONLOOP.
People can receive an NH Bank ID through ICONLOOP’s DID service Zzeung.
One of South Korea’s largest banks, NH Bank launched its DID-based identification system in August.
Based on ICONLOOP’s MyID platform, Nonghyup’s service provides users with a ID verification certificate that enables simplified, non-face-to-face ID verification for financial transactions.
That means no more bothersome mobile phone verifications, ID photographs or proof of account are needed.
NH Bank is the second major South Korean bank to put MyID to work.
In August of last year, Shinhan Bank launched a MyID-based ID service, the first commercial application of a DID service in South Korea’s financial sector.
