Sub P-Rep Bit Cat may be low in the ranks, but have been actively participating in testnets and hope to help ICON realize its vision of “hyperconnecting the world” by supporting ICON in China. 

1. Tell us about your team.

Bit Cat is a professional blockchain team from Beijing, China that focuses on PoS consensus and public chain construction. Our team has been working in blockchain for over 3 years, and has strong technical capabilities, having worked at two of the largest Chinese Internet companies Baidu (the Google equivalent to China) and Tencent. Currently the team mainly focus on PoS nodes and have successfully run multiple PoS nodes, such as Tezos, Comos, IRISnet, Terra and so on.

2. Why would you like to become an ICON P-Rep?

One of the main reasons we decided to become a P-Rep was because we were impressed by the ICON team and its strong community, which we already felt when we participated in the testnets. ICON is from South Korea, a country that is very friendly and open towards blockchain. We believe this is a positive advantage because it encourages more innovation. The ICON Project is also popular in China and we think it could grow even more.

3. Why should the voters vote for YOU?

Our team has very strong technical skills and good experience with blockchain. We have 5 host locations around the world, all of which are used to ensure that our services are not interrupted. At present, our support for English and Korean users is not the greatest, but we are working hard to improve and hope this effort can recognized. We have successfully run multiple nodes on Tezos, Cosmos, IRISnet and believed it was time to invest more in ICON.

4. What do you like about ICON? What sets it apart from other blockchain platforms?

We like ICON because it is one of the world’s leading public chain project. Any participant can create a new blockchain project on its own, and this new project will connect with other projects to create a whole new world, one that is “hyperconnected”. We strongly believe in this vision and recognize the potential it can have in the future. We think ICON should try to engage in more countries such as China, to develop the network even more. 

5. How do you envision a decentralized ICON network? Why is decentralization important?

Decentralization is the biggest attraction of blockchain projects. ICON being decentralized will play a key role in attracting more people to use it. The incentives put in place by ICON are also a good idea for more users to use and participate in staking. Our view of a decentralized network is one where the community and P-Reps are open and supportive of one another, and collaborate together for the growth of the ecosystem. And we think ICON is achieving that.
