ICONLOOP is lending a helping hand during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering free support for its blockchain-based services VisitMe and broof.

This comes as the pandemic has made creating “untact” environments even more urgent.

The VisitMe service will issue for free up to 2,000 admission certificates during the user’s first two months of service. broof, meanwhile, will offer 50 free certificates when you sign up at the service website.

Incorporating ICONLOOP’s decentralized ID (DID) protocol, VisitMe eliminates the hassle involved in visiting an office.

Users simply make reservations to visit the office using an app available for iOS and Android. After confirming your name, phone number, place of work or other basic information, the service sends you an invitation through the app. The invitation includes a QR code.

When you arrive at the destination, simply show the QR code to the scanner at the door and you’re let in immediately.

broof, meanwhile, issues blockchain-based certificates and diplomas. It got a real workout last month when Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), one of South Korea’s leading universities, used it to issue digital graduation diplomas to its entire graduating class after postponing its offline graduation ceremony due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Iconist notes that both VisitMe and broof both run on ICON’s public chain.

ICONLOOP CEO JH Kim noted that the COVID-19 pandemic would likely accelerate the adoption of untact environments in a wider range of environments. He said, “ICONLOOP will build safer digital environments you can trust using blockchain’s characteristic transparency and security.”
